OyePages is a perfect social website to bring people together. Other than sharing content or meeting new friends - people of all ages and backgrounds can discover things that can truly enrich their lives.

OyePages helps you connect with like-minded people for social welfare and awareness programs, or religious and cultural activities. Get everyone talking through groups, communities, forums, chats and activity streams. Join various local or global activities or interests in your locality or anywhere else in the world.

OyePages opens new doors to revenue and involvement for local businesses and services. You caneasily promote it in your targeted geographical area, and/or interact with your customers to gain greater loyalty, following and higher customer satisfaction.

OyePages helps to grow your network into a more active and fulfilling social exchange. It facilitates its users with common interests and hobbies to find each other and enable meaningful exploration of thoughts, opinions, expressions and experienceswith friends, contacts or rest of the world.

Sign Up

If you are already a member of OyePages, visit oyepages.com to sign-in.

To create a new account to join OyePages, visit oyepages.com and enter your information into the sign up form. Your password must be at least 6 characters in length - it should be easy for you to remember and hard for someone else to figure it out.

You must be 15 years or older to sign up with OyePages.

After you send the completed sign up form, we will send an email to the address provided in the sign up form. Click the activation link in the received email to complete your sign up progress.

Manage Your Profile and Contents

Profile Information

We believe in simplicity, and member’s Profile section is a perfect example of it. Whether you are visiting your own profile or profile of other member, you get a simple and pleasing view of the profile information.

To edit your profile information, click on the small action button along with your profile picture in the top tab bar and then select Edit Profile. Then select the section you wish to edit from left-side menu on Edit Profile page.

Use the Privacy Setting options to manage how and with whom you want to share your Profile information. Account, Privacy & Settings

Some information like your name, password, preferred country, etc. belongs to your account. You can update your account information in Account Settings. Account, Privacy & Settings

Photos & Photo Albums

Viewing and Managing your Photo Albums was never so easy. To create a new Album, go to Photos section on your Profile and click on Upload Photos/Create Album button. Select image files and upload them. To edit an Album, go to the Album you want to edit and click on Edit Album button.

While creating a new Album or editing an existing Album, you get quick access to add/edit Album cover photo, name, location, description, privacy, etc. You can also add/edit title/location and description of each Photo. You can delete a Photo if you don’t want to keep it in the new Album, or move it into another Album. To add more Photos to an Album, click on Add Photos button on edit Album page.

Friends

Importing or inviting contacts, and finding your friends who are already on OyePages is probably the first thing you would like to do on OyePages. You can use the following to connect with your friends:

To import and invite your contacts from your email provider and/or an online community, visit Import/Invite Friends link on Members page.

To search your friends who are already member of OyePages, type in their name or email address in the search box at the top.

To browse members, click on Members in the tab bar. You can filter members based on their region and other criterion. You can also browse our friend suggestions for you in the Suggestions section on Members page. These suggestions are generally based on the information provided by you in your Profile.

To invite your friend individually to OyePages, visit Invite Friends page and enter email address of your friend in the Quick Invite form.

You can send friend-request to a member by clicking on Add Friend button/link on member’s Profile page, or displayed along with member’s basic information on any other page.

To remove a member from your friend-list, go to member’s Profile, click on Action button on right top and select Remove Friend link. If you remove a person from your Friends list, you will also be removed from the member’s friend-list.

If a friend or a member is causing any trouble to you, you can block him/her. A block user cannot send you any message or friend-request. To block a member, go to member’s Profile, click on Action button on right-top and select Block member link.

To control who can send you friend-request, visit Your Account, Privacy, and Settings.

Posts – Your Updates, Blogs & Polls

Here you see your own Updates, Blogs, Polls, Favorite Blogs and drafts. The posts in Updates section include your all status updates including photo updates, and messages written on your wall by your friends or other members. Depending upon the type of post and who posted it, you can report, remove or delete it from your Updates. To edit a draft Blog, go to My Drafts and open the blog you want to edit.

Your Account & Privacy Settings

Maintaining your Account, Privacy and other Settings on OyePages is really easy.

To edit your Settings, click on the small action button along with your profile picture in the top tab bar and select Settings. Then select the section you wish to review/edit from the left-side menu.

Account Setting

Some information you provide during account creation belongs to your account settings. You can change your name and some other information, but you cannot change your user-id (email address provided at the time of account creation). Please note that you can change your preferred country only once in 15 days. Your preferred country helps us in maintaining your information and in providing you more relevant search/browse results.

To change your account setting, go to Account section on Settings page, update the setting and save it.

Profile Privacy

Profile Privacy is related to who can see what information in your profile. You can control the visibility of information blocks like your Work, Education, Contact Info, Interests, etc. to other members by setting desired privacy levels for different blocks of information.

Some information like your Name, Gender, Profile Picture, Cover Photo and Signature (Oye! Signature) are always public.

To change your profile privacy setting, go to Profile Privacy section on Settings page, update the setting and save it.

Contact Privacy

If you are on OyePages for a closed network, Contact Privacy is for you. You can control things like who can send you messages & friend request, who can write & read updates on your wall, who can see your friend list, etc.

To change your privacy setting, go to Contact Privacy section on Settings page, update the setting and save it.

Email Notifications

OyePages sends email notification to you for activities like – a new friend request, a user accepts your friend request, a new post on your wall, someone likes or comments on your post, a user wants to join your Group, etc.

You can control which type of email notification are sent you from your Email Notifications settings.

To change your email notifications setting, go to Email Notifications section on Settings page, update the setting and save it.

Blocked Users

If a friend or other user is causing any trouble to you, you can block him/her. A blocked user cannot send you any message or friend-request. To block a user, go to user’s Profile, click on Action button on right-top and select Block user link. You can see all blocked users in this section, and you can also unblock them.

To unblock a blocked user, select the user (click on check-box to select) and click on Unblock button.

Invitation mails

OyePages members can invite their friends and contacts to join OyePages. Invite your Friends

You may receive invitation mails to join OyePages if your email address is not registered with us and one of your friends/contacts invites you to join OyePages. If you are already a member of OyePages with a different email address, you may wish to add this email address to your existing account. Once you add the email address to your existing account, OyePages will not send invitation mails to this email address.

If you wish to join OyePages, click on the link in the invitation email to sign up and create your profile on OyePages. Sign up

If you do not wish to receive invitations from your friends, you can use unsubscribe link provided in the email. Please note that your email address will be saved at server to prevent emails to you in future.

My Sweet Home

This is where you get the latest updates from your friends, family and contacts, and also from Groups, Mobilizers and Pages of your interest. You can browse your Favorite communities in the left pane to see the latest updates.

Updates

Here you get updates from your social circle i.e. the latest status updates, polls, blogs and other activities of your friends, family and contacts, along with important updates from Groups, Mobilizers and Pages of your interest.

You can post updates, photos, polls, blogs, etc. on your wall and in communities of your interest, or a message or photo on your friend’s wall.

To remove an item from your Updates, or to report an item, click on the Action button available in the right-top corner of the item and select appropriate link. If you remove a blog or poll from Updates, this item will also be removed from the Blogs or Polls.

Messages

Apart from writing on friends’ wall and chatting with them, you can also exchange private messages with your friends and other members. To see who can send you messages and to update your settings, see Your Account, Privacy & Settings.

To send a message to your friend, go to Messages and then click on New Message button on top-right. To send a message to an OyePages member who is not your friends, go to member’s profile and click on Send Message link. Depending on Account Settings of a member, the Send Message button may or may not be present on members profile page.

To view full message, click on the message link.

To delete a received message, click on delete button on the right side of the message.

If you do not want to receive any message and friend request from a member, you can block that member. See Your Account, Privacy & Settings for details.

Blogs

Though you get the latest blogs from your social circle in your Updates, this is where you can browse the latest and older blogs. You can report or remove a Blog by clicking on the action button on its right top and then selecting the appropriate link. If you remove a blog from the Blogs, the blog will also be removed from your Updates.

To create a new Blog, click on New Blog button on right-top side.

Polls

Though you get the latest polls from your social circle in your Updates, this is where you can browse the latest and older polls. You can report or remove a Poll by clicking on the action button on its right top and then selecting the appropriate link. If you remove a poll from the Polls, the poll will also be removed from your Updates.

To create a new Poll, click on New Poll button on right-top side.

I Admin

Here you see all Groups, Mobilizers and Pages you have created. These items are automatically added here. A Group/Mobilizer will be automatically removed if you leave the Group/Mobilizer. You cannot leave a Page, but you can delete it. Once deleted, the Page will be automatically removed from your favorites.

Favorites

Here you see all Groups and Mobilizers you have added to your Favorites. A Group is automatically added to your Favorites once your request to join the group is approved by Group Admin. You can add Mobilizers of your interest to your Favorites by clicking on Add to Favorites/Become member button on the Mobilizer page.

You can remove any Group or Mobilizer from your Favorites. If you leave a Group, it will automatically be removed from your Favorites. To leave a Group or to remove a Mobilizer from your Favorites, go to Group/Mobilizer page, click on Action button on right-top and select appropriate link.

Opinion Polls - Open Polls

The Opinion Polls or open Polls are for all OyePages members and non-members; though a person who is not a member of OyePages cannot Comment, Vote or Share any open Poll.

The open Polls are categorized into Categories and groups. Recently Posted blogs are the most recent blogs. On the Rise polls are generally the most popular polls of last 1-2 weeks. Popular polls are generally the most popular polls of a Month.

Though the open Polls/Comments are not reviewed by OyePages before posting, but some open Polls/Comments are randomly picked for quality monitoring.

Depending upon your social circle and your social activities on OyePages, you may have privilege to write one or more open Polls in every 24 hours. A member may be required to have more than a certain number of friends, and/or other connections/activities like being Admin of a Group, Mobilizer or Page to get privileges to create an open Poll.

Any user using offensive or abusive language, or violating any Term of Service may temporarily or permanently loose his/her privilege to create open Poll/Blog and to comments on open Polls/Blogs.

If you don’t see a New Poll button on right side of Opinion Polls, it means you do not have privileges to create an open Poll. This could be due to your limited social circle/activities on OyePages, or your might have been deprived of the privilege to create an open Poll.

Bloggers’ Paradise – Open Blogs

The Bloggers’ Paradise or open Blogs are for all OyePages members and non-members; though a person who is not a member of OyePages cannot Like, Comment, Rate or Share any open Blog.

The open Blogs are categorized into topics and groups. Recently Posted blogs are the most recent blogs. New Picks are generally the most popular blogs of last few days. On the Rise blogs are generally the most popular blogs of last 1-2 weeks. Popular blogs are generally most popular blogs of a Month.

Though the open Blogs/Comments are not reviewed by OyePages before posting, but some open Blogs/Comments are randomly picked for quality monitoring.

Depending upon your social circle and your social activities on OyePages, you may have privilege to write one or more open Blogs in every 24 hours. A member may be required to have more than a certain number of friends, and/or other connections/activities like being Admin of a Group, Mobilizer or Page to get privileges to write an open Blogs.

Mobilizers

Mobilizers are specialized public Groups for people who are associated with some kind of Social Welfare, Social Awareness, Cultural, Religious, Environmental, Educational, or any other similar programs/activities. A Mobilizer must have a nice profile picture, a well-defined purpose and description. Any Mobilizer without any picture, with incomplete or vague purpose or description may be removed without any warning or notification.

The members can create Mobilizers such as “Save Water”, “Save Tiger”, “Cancer Prevention”, Love your Pets”, “For Homeless”, “Go Green”, etc. The groups related to your interests or hobbies, or school/college should not be created in Groups, not in Mobilizers.

Side Note: Though it should be possible to share information posted in Mobilizers, but users should not be able to share Posts/information in Mobilizers.

Creating a Mobilizer

To create a Mobilizer, go to Mobilizers home by clicking on Mobilizers title in the top tab bar and then click on New Mobilizer button. Fill in information for the new Mobilizer into the form, and click on Create/Save button.

To edit your Mobilizer information or to add more information to a Mobilizer, go to your mobilizer page and click on Edit button or Edit link in Action button.

To promote your Mobilizer, you can share it on your Wall or on a Wall of a Group, Mobilizer or Page.

Joining a Mobilizer/Adding to Favorite

You can add a Mobilizer to your Favorites. You automatically become a member of the Mobilizer when you add it to your Favorites. The Mobilizer is also added to your Liked items.

To remove a Mobilizer from your Favorites, just unlike it.

You can also ‘Like’ a mobilizer without adding it to your Favorites i.e. without becoming a member of it.

Managing your Mobilizers

The Mobilizer Admins have privileges to manage mobilizer. The Mobilizer Admins can do the following - edit mobilizer info, add more details to mobilizer info, edit mobilizer preferences, add/remove admins, remove abusive posts, and remove or block users from posting on the mobilizer. You automatically become Group Admin if you create a Mobilizer.

To edit/manage your Mobilizer, open the Mobilizer page and click on Edit button or click on Action button and then select Edit link. And then select a selection you want to edit from left menu.

To add more Admins to your Mobilizer, go to edit/manage Mobilizer page and select Admins from left menu. Click on Add admins link to add more admins.

The Mobilizer Admins do not have rights to delete mobilizer, but they can leave it. Once all members leave the mobilizer, it will be automatically deleted/purged.

Pages

The Pages are for business, celebrities, organizations and other well-known entities to communicate with their customers, fans, members and other people who show interest in their Page by Liking it.

The localized Pages also help people in finding business/services, organizations and celebrities in their area.

Pages do not have members, but a user can Like a Page to get updates from the Page.

Creating a Page

A user must be an authorized representative of a business, celebrity, organization or other well-known entity to create a Page for the represented entity.

To create a Page, go to Pages home by clicking on Pages title in the top tab bar and then click on New Page button. Fill in information for the new Page into the form, and click on Create/Save button.

To edit your Page information or to add more information to a Page, go to your Page and click on Edit button or Edit link in Action button.

To promote your Page, you can share it on your Wall or on a Wall of a Group, Mobilizer or Page.

Managing your Page

The Page Admins have privileges to manage Page. The Page Admins can do the following - edit Page info, add more details to Page info, edit Page preferences, add/remove Admins, remove abusive posts, and remove or block users from posting on the Page. You automatically become Group Admin if you create a Page.

To edit/manage your Page, open the Page and click on Edit button or click on Action button and then select Edit link. And then select a selection you want to edit from left menu.

To add more Admins to your Page, go to edit/manage Page page and select Admins from left menu. Click on Add admins link to add more admins.

The Page Admins can hide or delete page, but they can leave the page. A hidden page is non visible to non-other users.

Editing Restriction ….. You cannot edit … if a group has less than … more than

Groups

The Groups are closed communities of OyePages members to communicate about common interests. The OyePages members can join or create groups of their interest. There are 3 types of groups – Private, Restricted and Public groups.

Private Groups

Private groups are not visible in search results or browsing. Any user who is not a member of a Private group cannot see any information/contents of the group. The only way to join a Private group is invitation by Group admin or Group member.

Restricted Groups

Restricted groups are visible in search results and browsing. The non-members can see group information (About page, Group admins and members), but only members can see group-contents (Updates, Polls, Blogs or Photos).

Public Groups

Public groups are also visible in search results and browsing. All OyePages members can see group information (About page, Group admins and members) and group-contents (Updates, Polls, Blogs or Photos), but only members can post on a Public group.

Creating or Joining a Group

To create a group, go to Groups home by clicking on Groups title in the top tab bar and click on New Group button. Fill in information for the new Group into the form, select group privacy and click on Create/Save button.

To edit your Group information or to add more information to a Group, go to your group page and click on Edit button or Edit link in Action button.

To invite your friends to your group, go to the group page and click on Action button and then select Add Friends to Group link.

There are several ways to join a Group. Your friend who is Admin of a Group can add you to the Group. Your friend who is a member of a Group can invite you to join the Group. You can also browse Groups of your interest. If you wish to join a Group, go to the group page and click on Send Request Send Request to Join link or Join Group link. If required, your request to join the Group will be sent to Group Admin. You will become a member of the Group upon approval by Group Admin.

Managing your Groups

The Group Admins have privileges to manage groups. The Group Admins can do the following - edit group info, add more details to group info, edit group preferences, add/remove admins, remove abusive posts, and remove or block users from joining the group. You automatically become Group Admin if you create a Group.

To edit/manage your Group, open the Group page and click on Edit button or click on Action button and then select Edit link. And then select a selection you want to edit from left menu.

To add more Admins to your Group, go to edit/manage Group page and select Admins from left menu. Click on Add admins link to add more admins.

To edit Group Preference, go to edit/manage Group page and select Preferences from left menu.

The Group Admins do not have rights to delete group, but they can leave it. Once all members leave the group, it will be automatically deleted/purged.
